Seduction over a table with 13 other women
I recently went to a speed dating night at a local bar, and I was surprised by how well I did. I went with a friend who had been before, telling me, “Now don’t worry if you don’t get a good response, you just have to alter your game and give them what they want.” But as it turned out, what I was giving obviously worked; maybe not 100% perfect but certainly 60% perfect. This was going on the positive feedback I was getting from the ladies I met. The method I used was simple; keep it short and don’t give too much away at an early stage. I tried to act ambivalent towards everyone I met, with the hope of making them think, “Ah, I need to convince him to like me.” It paid dividends in the end, but first I want to tell you more about my method. After telling them my name and a few basic details I went on listening to them, adding small bits and pieces to keep the conversation going. Then towards the end of the 5 minutes we had together I would say, to all of them hoping to score through chance, “I really enjoyed talking to you … and I’d really like to see more of you. See you soon.” And it worked; out of 14 different women I saw and met, 6 of them said they wanted to see me. And out of the 8 that wanted to see me, I had said I wanted to see 5 of them. So now I have 5 new numbers of women that I would genuinely like to see again after the event.
I have only spoken to 2 of them since the evening and from this I have 2 dates lined up which is exciting. It just goes to show that these dating clubs and dating services are worthwhile, producing possible couples from a five minute conversation held in a room with a further thirteen conversations. My friend even improved on last time she went. Then she got 3 numbers, and now she got 4. So all’s well that ends well as Bill Shakespeare would have put it. Nobody suffered as a result of the evening, confirming my previous worries that perhaps it wasn’t going to be such a good idea. Who ever said that these things were tacky? I certainly found it classy and I’m sure you will too.
